The Somaliland government has reacted to China’s support of military hardware to Somalia and stated that it is a sign of provoking the emerging partnership between Somaliland and the United states of America at a time President Bihi is spending a visit in Washington.
The Republic of Somaliland has strongly opposed China’s military support to Somalia and believes Chinaโs decision relates to the Somaliland President’s visit to the United states of America where he is engaging in talks with Bidenโs administration officials.
The Director general of Somaliland Presidency Mohamed Ali Bile revealed that Chinaโs supply of military hardware to Somalia is not a coincidence but a provocation to disrupt Somalilandโs relations with Taiwan and the emerging partnership with the US. an accusation China government has not yet responded to.
The Chinese government has handed 35 vehicles to Somaliaโs National Army, including water, fuel trucks and military ambulances as part of Chinaโs support for the nationโs military.
According to Somalia officials, The vehicles will be used by Somaliaโs military to fight against Al-Shabaab who have been fighting to overthrow the central government for over a decade.
