Turkish Airlines Reconnects with Libya: Flights Resume After Decade-Long Pause

 

After a decade-long hiatus, Turkish Airlines has reignited its connection with Libya, launching its inaugural flight to Mitiga International Airport in Tripoli. The announcement, was made via “Hakomitna,” the media platform of Libya’s interim Government of National Unity led by Abdul Hamid Dbeibah.

Dbeibah, had last week, hinted the return of Turkish Airlines describing it as an indicator of progress amidst challenges, while also emphasizing the strengthening of stability in all aspects.

He attributed the achievement to collaborative efforts within the transportation and civil aviation sectors.

While speaking, Turkish Airlines’ General Manager, Bilal Ekşi, confirmed plans for three weekly flights to Mitiga Airport, in the Libyan airspace.

According to him, the move signifies efforts to meet the technical prerequisites for welcoming back reputable companies to the nation.
