Tunis To Host Tripartite Meeting with Algeria and Libya Leaders

Leaders from Algeria and Libya are meeting with the Tunisian President in Tunis on Monday for a tripartite meeting at the invitation of Tunisian President, Kais Saied. President Said said he extended the invitation to President Abdelmadjid Tebboune of Algeria and President of the Libyan Presidential Council, Mohamed Al Menfi, to participate in the inaugural consultative session to enhancing partnership and cooperation frameworks among the three nations.

This meeting follows an agreement reached during the seventh summit of oil exporting countries in Algiers, where the leaders pledged to convene periodically to focus on revitalizing the Arab Maghreb Union and addressing pressing regional concerns.

The Tunisian Presidency officially announced this gathering through its social media channels.

However, the presidency’s post did not announce the participation of either Mauritania or Morocco, two key countries in the region despite assertions that the realization of a cohesive Maghreb Union is improbable without the involvement of all key stakeholders, particularly, Morocco.
