Triple Stabbing Shakes Moroccan Tourist Resort of Agadir

 

Two British tourists have been injured in a triple stabbing on the seafront promenade of the Moroccan tourist hotspot Agadir.

The incident occured on Thursday along the popular seafront promenade of Agadir, known for its golf courses and expansive crescent beach, leaving locals and tourists in shock.

The 33-year-old suspect, who had a criminal history involving drug trafficking and had served a jail term three years ago, fled into the sea in an attempt to evade arrest but was apprehended after a brief pursuit and was taken into custody by authorities.

Reports say that Moroccan police are exploring the possibility of the incident being linked to terrorism.

The victims, described as a British couple and a Moroccan woman residing in Belgium, sustained injuries to their legs and back, were transported to a Hospital in Agadir for medical attention.

While two of the victims have been released from the hospital after receiving treatment, the third victim, whose nationality remains undisclosed, continues to undergo medical care.

Moroccan authorities are actively investigating the motive behind the knife attack, with sources indicating that the suspect remains in police custody.

The incident has raised concerns among residents and visitors alike, highlighting the need for heightened security measures in popular tourist destinations.
