Party officials express deep concern over the increasing trend of selling public properties without proper public tender processes. Yusuf Tadhaase, the Secretary of Sports for Waddani party, specifically highlighted the impact on youth sports, citing the recent sale of a basketball stadium in Hargeisa.
He lamented the government’s lack of response to community pleas, emphasizing the party’s determination to revoke ownership rights from those engaged in such actions if they assume power.
Tadhaase also revealed similar activities in other parts of the country, including the closure of Hajji Daahir Stadium in Borama, raising fears of potential sales. He urged the public to unite and remain vigilant, emphasizing the need to safeguard real estate assets and resist the government’s deliberate attempts to sell them.
The party previously criticized a recent incident at the Police lane area in Hargeisa, where the government instructed residents to vacate the area and reportedly sold the land to business tycoons.
