In response to the prolonged absence of elections within the Somaliland House of Elders, Abdinasir Qodah, a prominent Somaliland lawmaker, has underscored the critical necessity to establish comprehensive electoral legislation for the House of Elders.
Qodah has also urged the parliamentary body to take proactive measures by formulating bylaws that foster positive collaborations between the two houses, aiming to mitigate recurring constitutional disputes in the foreseeable future.
Furthermore, he has called upon the National Electoral Commission to provide clarity regarding its commitment to conducting the upcoming elections as scheduled.
Qodah emphasized the significance of ensuring the distribution of voter cards to individuals who were unable to collect them during the initial distribution process.
