Somaliland and Djibouti Trade Ministers Hold Extended Meeting to Strengthen Economic and Tourism Cooperation
Hargeisa – August 26, 2025:
The Minister of Trade and Tourism of the Republic of Somaliland, Hon. Abdirahman Hassan Nuur, today warmly welcomed his counterpart, the Minister of Trade and Tourism of the Republic of Djibouti, Hon. Mohamed Warsame Dirieh, along with a high-level delegation he was leading, to his office in Hargeisa.
The meeting focused on strengthening the economic partnership between the two countries and discussed ways to enhance the flow of trade, investment, and tourism. The ministers also explored opportunities for cooperation in key areas such as economic development, marketing, and easing cross-border trade.
Minister Abdirahman Hassan Nuur emphasized the importance of building a long-term strategic partnership, noting that the trade relationship between Somaliland and Djibouti is rooted in shared borders, historical ties, and mutual economic interests.
He added that Somaliland is ready to further strengthen bilateral cooperation, trade exchange, and people-to-people connections to help create jobs, boost economic growth, and promote sustainable development for both nations.
