Somalia Prime minister visits army command in Adan Yabal following army withdrawal from key towns
Somalia’s Prime Minister, Hamse Abdi Barre, undertook a visit to the military command center in the Adan-Yabal district of Hirshabelle State. This visit followed closely after the Somalia National Army’s withdrawal from significant urban centers in central Somalia.
According to the Prime minister, The primary objective of his visit was to extend his support and encouragement to both the army and the local populace, who are dedicatedly collaborating to quell insurgency within the Galmudug and Hirshabelle regional states.
During his stay within the Middle Shabelle region, the Prime Minister engaged in discussions with prominent army commanders and regional leaders. These deliberations aimed to accelerate the ongoing military operations and provide a morale boost to the armed forces as well as the local militia units.
This visit signifies the Prime Minister’s second instance of traveling to Adan Yabal. Notably, his presence coincided with a recent statement from the President of Somalia, emphasizing the imperative of holding accountable individuals who have misused their authority within the military establishment.
