Somalia, Egypt vow to boost cooperation in health sector

During the recent conclusion of the World Conference on Population, Health, and Development, held in Cairo, Somalia’s Minister of Labour and Social Affairs, Dr. Mohamed Elmi Ibrahim, engaged in a meeting with Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Egypt’s Minister of Health and Population.

The esteemed ministers deliberated on avenues to bolster their collaboration in the domains of family planning and reproductive health services. They also sought to draw from Egypt’s expertise in formulating and executing a national strategy for population and development, a strategy introduced during the conference’s inaugural session.

Both ministers concurred on broadening the scope of their cooperative initiatives within the healthcare sector, with the shared objective of fortifying the healthcare systems of their respective nations to effectively address the needs of their citizens.

In reaffirmation of the enduring ties that have united Somalia and Egypt over several decades, the ministers expressed their profound mutual respect and unwavering support for one another.
