The President of the Republic of Somaliland, H.E. Abdirahman Mohamed Abdillahi (Cirro), today attended the graduation ceremony of the 22nd batch of Hargeisa University. The President delivered an inspiring speech to the graduating students, congratulating them on their great achievement.
President Cirro extended his heartfelt congratulations to the students, teachers, parents, and the university administration, describing the success as a result of commitment, perseverance, and long-term effort.
This year, a total of 1,355 students graduated from Hargeisa University across both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Of these, 703 (52%) were female students, and 652 (48%) were male.
The President praised the university’s role in advancing knowledge and serving the community, describing it as a national pillar that fosters research and produces a generation equipped with skills and education.
He also emphasized the importance of research for the future of Somaliland, reaffirming that the “Unity and Progress” Government remains committed to continuously supporting academic research and innovation projects across national universities.
President Cirro encouraged the students to use their knowledge to serve their country, contribute to its development, create jobs, and innovate solutions to challenges facing Somaliland’s youth.
Finally, the President offered the graduates parental advice, urging them to stay away from harmful habits, tribalism, and anything that could threaten the unity and cohesion of the people of Somaliland.
