The Nigerian military says it has has recorded yet another victory against the Boko Haram insurgents in a raid in the northern part of the country. Top members of the group were killed while hibernating on the Mandara mountain where they’re planning to carry out attacks on citizens…
Troops of the Nigerian military operating jointly with the air component of the Operation Hadin Kai of the Nigerian Air Force, have neutralised terrorists hibernating on the popular Mandara Mountain.
The terrorists, according to the Nigerian Air Force, were killed at the isolated location while holding a meeting in preparation to carry out a major attack on innocent civilians.
The spokesman of the Nigerian Air Force, Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, explained that over 100 heavily armed terrorists were observed in their hideout which also had 4 troop carriers.
Top members of the Boko Haram insurgents were killed in the raid by the Nigerian Air Force.
Commenting on the air raid, the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar commended the Air Component Commander and his men while urging them to continue to synergize with the Land Component as they maintain the momentum in, “keeping the terrorists on their toes.”
He highlighted the need to justify the trust and confidence the Federal Government and Nigerians have bestowed on the military by ensuring that they go all out in making life unbearable for the terrorists and criminals until they surrender or are completely eliminated.
Boko Haram has been responsible for enormous violence in Nigeria since the early 2000s, especially in the northern part of the West African country.
Over 20,000 people have died in the group’s widespread violent attacks since 2009 while several others have forced to seek refuge in neighbouring countries.
