Piyush Goyal, the Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, engaged in a series of interactive sessions with major food industry traders in Dubai.
The discussions centered on enhancing trade relations and addressing key challenges faced by Indian exporters.
During the meetings, Minister Goyal emphasized the immense potential of the GCC and Egyptian markets for Indian food exports, emphasizing their strong focus on quality and halal standards. One of the primary concerns tackled was the issue of certifications related to food imports, a topic critical for seamless trade.
Apart from engaging with major food importers, Minister Goyal also met with leading Indian Chartered Accountants based in the UAE. The dialogue focused on fortifying the India-UAE relationship, with Minister Goyal urging the CA community to contribute significantly to India’s progress during the ‘Amrit Kaal.’
Furthermore, the discussions delved into India’s ambitious plans for renewable energy investments, including substantial commitments to solar and wind energy, rooftop solar installations, as well as investments in green hydrogen and green ammonia. Sustainability emerged as a key theme, with a commitment to the circular economy and environmentally responsible practices to foster sustainable economic growth.
