IGAD Spokesperson, Nuur Mohamud Sheekh, Resigns After Seven Years of Service
Nuur Mohamud Sheekh, the Spokesperson and confidante of the Executive Secretary of the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD), Dr. Workneh Gebeyehu, has announced his resignation after three years in the role and a dedicated seven-year tenure at IGAD.
During his term as Spokesperson, Nuur fostered strong relationships with communities, diplomatic counterparts, and the media, contributing significantly to enhancing IGAD’s organizational culture, brand, and reputation.
Dr. Workneh Gebeyehu expressed his appreciation for Nuur’s exceptional service, stating, “Dear Nuur, your absence will be very visible in our future endeavors. You were a friend and a very good colleague for all IGAD staff. An amazing communicator, you served IGAD with high professionalism, dedication, and integrity.”
In a social media post, Nuur Mohamud Sheekh reflected on his time at IGAD, expressing gratitude for the privilege of serving as the spokesperson under Dr. Workneh Gebeyehu’s leadership.
