Egypt Insists on Israeli Pullout from Rafah Crossing to Reopen Aid Route

Egypt has insisted that Israel withdraws from the Palestinian side of the Rafah crossing to facilitate its reopening. This stance was reaffirmed on Sunday, during a meeting between delegates from Egypt, Israel, and the United States regarding the Rafah border crossing in the southern Gaza Strip.

According to reports, Egypt maintained its firm position on the necessity for Israel to withdraw from the Palestinian side of the Rafah crossing to resume its operation. Egypt has refused to coordinate with Israel on the Rafah crossing since Tel Aviv captured the Palestinian side of the terminal last month.

The Egyptian security delegation emphasized that Israel is responsible for the current humanitarian crisis in Gaza, noting that Israel is fully accountable for humanitarian aid not entering the Gaza Strip.

The delegation called for immediate action to allow the entry of at least 350 aid trucks daily, carrying essential food, medical supplies, and fuel into Gaza.
