African Union gets news leadership as Mauritania President emerges Chairman for 2024
President Mohamed Cheikh Ahmed Mohamed Ould Ghazouani of Mauritania officially took over the role of African Union Chairperson for the year 2024. He succeeds His Excellency Azali Assoumani of Comoros.The announcement was made during the proceedings at the Bureau of the Assembly for the year 2024.

The composition of the Bureau of the Assembly for 2024 includes 1st Vice Chair Angola, 2nd Vice Chair Congo, 3rd Vice Chair:Ghana while the Rapporteur is H.E. Azali Assoumani of .Comoros
