The Ceerigaabo Peace Committee today officially concluded the resolution of all unresolved blood-related conflicts in the district.

The final negotiations between the two fraternal clans — Bahwadaag Bahogayslabe (Warsangeli) and Cabdalle Xaamuud (Muuse Ismaaciil) — resulted in a comprehensive agreement.

The reconciliation addressed the killing of the late Ahmed Abdi Omar (Hadal-yare), who was murdered in Ceerigaabo on 29 October 2024.

The committee, through tireless effort and visible dedication, successfully brought the two sides together and reached a binding agreement that put an end to all previous grievances and blood feuds.

For the past four weeks, the peace committee has been actively mediating between the parties, holding continuous meetings to find a lasting resolution.

The formal peace gathering, led by the President of the Republic of Somaliland, is expected to be inaugurated in the coming days. It will lay the foundation for lasting peace and stability in the region.

The committee and local elders have called on all residents of Sanaag to uphold peace, unity, and stability.
The Peace Committee also extended gratitude to all who demonstrated patience, maturity, and willingness to compromise. It commended the support and involvement of the public, scholars, women, intellectuals, and traditional elders who played a major role in realizing this historic agreement.
