The regional office of the National Human Rights Commission in Saraar conducted a monitoring visit to the Central Police Station in the Wadaamagoo district.

The objective of the visit was to assess the human rights situation of individuals held at the station, evaluate the availability of basic services provided to them, and review the working conditions of the officers stationed there.

During the visit, the Commission held a private meeting with the station’s officers, discussing ways to strengthen the protection of the rights of detainees and to enhance the quality of services at the station.

The Commission commended the officers for their dedication to serving the community, emphasizing that the protection of human rights is both a legal and moral obligation that must be upheld at all times.

This visit forms part of the Commission’s ongoing efforts to ensure that citizens held in detention facilities receive their rights and the care they are entitled to.
