Puntlandโsย naval forces have apprehended a suspect and confiscated explosives following operations in Bosaso, officials reported. The captured materials included hand grenades linked to recent severe explosions in the city.
The operations targeted individuals believed to be associated with Al-Shabaab and ISIS groups in Somalia, whichย are reportedย to have hidden bases in the Bariย region’sย mountains.
However, the official statement did not clarify theย suspect’sย specificย group affiliation.
According to the
navalย command’sย statement, the intent behind deploying the explosives was to harm the residents of Bosaso. The confiscated vehicles were reportedly used to transport the grenades involved in the attacks.
Despite these incidents, the overall security situation in Bosaso has been stable recently.
