Mauritania to Reopen Embassy in Tripoli

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Mauritania, Mohamed Salem, announced that the Mauritania embassy will reopen in the Libyan capital, Tripoli.

This announcement came during the minister’s meeting with the Libyan Prime Minister, Abdul Hamid Dbeibah in Tripoli.

Speaking on behalf of the Mauritanian President, Mohamed Ould Ghazouani, Salem reiterated the depth of relations between the two countries, and the need to work on coordinating efforts at the level of the Arab Maghreb Union and the African Union.

Responding, Dbeibeh called for the strengthening of economic cooperation between Libya and Mauritania and emphasized the historic relationship between them.

The Prime Minister stressed the need for continued cooperation in all fields, as well as to create opportunities for Libyan producers and the private sector to present their activities in Mauritania.
