Ethiopian and Djiboutian Leaders Discuss Deepening Bilateral Ties During Official Visit

 

In a bid to strengthen the longstanding ties between Ethiopia and Djibouti, the Speaker of the Ethiopian House of Peoples’ Representative, Tagese Chafo, engaged in bilateral discussions with a high-level Djiboutian delegation led by President of the country’s National Council, Dileita Mohamed Dileita.

The discussions, which took place in Addis Ababa, centered on enhancing the extensive people-to-people connections between the two nations, particularly in the political and economic spheres, as reported by the Ethiopian News Agency (ENA).
During the meeting, Speaker Tagese emphasized Ethiopia’s commitment to fostering shared development within the region, highlighting the various activities undertaken by the country to achieve this goal.
Both sides acknowledged the significant infrastructural links that bind Ethiopia and Djibouti, including roads, railways, and electricity supply networks. Speaker Tagese encouraged members of the parliaments of both nations to collaborate closely in order to further strengthen their political and economic relations.
A key aspect of the discussions was the shared commitment to promoting peace and security in the region. The leaders underscored the importance of maximizing efforts to integrate the two countries with development initiatives.
President Dileita Mohamed Dileita is leading a three-day official working visit to Ethiopia, marking a crucial moment in the diplomatic relations between the two nations.
As part of the visit, President Dileita is expected to address the Ethiopian House of Peoples’ Representative on Thursday, providing an opportunity to further solidify ties between the two countries.
