Yilmaz Wraps Up Term as Turkish Ambassador in Libya, Begec Assumes Role
Turkey Ambassador to Libya, Kenan Yilmaz has concluded his tenure in libya. His tenure concluded with farewell meetings with Libyan Prime Minister, Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh and the head of the Presidential Council, Mohamed al-Menfi, to mark the end of his service.
The farewell meeting took place at the Prime Ministry building, where Dbeibeh praised the ambassador’s dedication and impact during his term.
Dbeibeh commended Yilmaz for his remarkable efforts under challenging conditions, highlighting his contributions to fostering stronger relations between Türkiye and Libya.
Meanwhile, the Libyan Presidential Council’s Press Office reported that Yilmaz also visited al-Menfi at the Council’s headquarters in Tripoli.
It would be recalled that Turkish Foreign Minister, Hakan Fidan, recently announced the new appointments for Türkiye’s foreign missions, including the assignment of Guven Begec as the new Ambassador to Libya to succeed Yilmaz.
Guven Begec was until his appointment as the new ambassador to Libya, the Permanent Representative of Turkey to the UN Geneva Office.
