Today, September 16, 2025, the official signing ceremony for the implementation of the National Data Center was held in the conference hall of the Ministry of Communication and Technology of the Republic of Somaliland.

The agreement was jointly signed by the Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Communication and Technology of Somaliland, Mr. Maaliki Cabdi Xasan, and Mr. Jerry Liao, Head of the Taiwan Technical Mission (TTM), highlighting that this agreement marks an important collaboration for advancing the country’s digital services.

Attendees at the event included:

• Ahmed Carab Muse, Director General of the Ministry of Communication and Technology
• Vivienne Wang, Expert from Taiwan ICDF
• Mustafe Carab, Director of Construction at the Ministry of Public Works, Land and Housing
• Advisors and department directors from the Ministry of Communication and Technology

This new National Data Center, jointly implemented by the Ministry of Communication and Technology and Taiwan ICDF, will serve as a crucial pillar for the protection, storage, and management of government data, reducing dependence on external third-party services and strengthening the data self-sufficiency of Somaliland.
