NATIONAL CONDOLENCE – THE DEATH OF RAILA ODINGA

The President of the Republic of Somaliland, H.E. Abdirahman Mohamed Abdillahi (Cirro), on behalf of the People, the Government, and the National Institutions of the Republic of Somaliland, extends his deepest condolences to the Family, the Nation, and the People of the Republic of Kenya on the passing of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, who died in India.

The President also sends his condolences to all the Peoples and Governments of the African continent, noting that the death of Raila Odinga is a great loss to Africa as a whole.

President Cirro described Raila Odinga as a courageous politician, a freedom fighter, and a prominent leader of the African continent—especially the Horn of Africa—who was known for his dedication to democracy, justice, and African unity.

He further noted that Raila Odinga was a close friend of Somaliland, a visionary statesman with deep knowledge of global politics and a clear understanding of Somaliland’s cause, aspirations, and future.

Finally, the President of the Republic of Somaliland once again extends heartfelt condolences to Raila Odinga’s family, friends, the people of Kenya, and the entire African continent, emphasizing that Raila was a principled hero and a symbol of democratic voice and the struggle for the rights of African people.
