Somaliland’s Horseed Political Association Chairman Reiterates Decision to Boycott Upcoming Election
Abdillahi Darawal, Chairman of Somaliland’s Horseed Political Association, has reaffirmed his decision not to participate in the upcoming elections scheduled for November 13. Speaking at a press conference today, Darawal expressed his concerns regarding the election process and the newly approved election law.
Darawal emphasized that the law, supported by other political associations and the House of Representatives, favors the interests of the three main political parties.
He warned that this could undermine Somaliland’s democratic principles, accusing the major parties of prioritizing their political agendas against the new political associations in the country.
Despite recent amendments to the election law by the parliament and President Bihi, which advocate for combining the Presidential and political association elections, Darawal remains steadfast in his decision, just five months before the election date.
