Somaliland: Former UCID Vice Presidential Candidate Joins Aspiring Candidates for the house of representatives Speakership
Former UCID vice presidential candidate Ahmed Muse Abyan has joined aspiring candidates for the house of representatives speakership. This man hails from Sool region where other strong politicians from the same region had already announced their candidacy for the seat.
Ahmed Muse Abyan, the former vice presidential candidate of the UCID party in the 2017 election has announced his candidacy for the house of representatives which is expected to run for the house of representatives speakership.
This means the race for the speakership of the house of representatives in the upcoming election is heating up but Ahmed Muse Abyan will face two other strong politicians who hails with him from the same regions.
Recently, Yasin Faraton, the Somaliland minister of foreign Affairs has officially announced his candidacy for the house of representatives. The minister who hails from the eastern regions of Somaliland will be contested in the Sool region and also is expected to run for the speakership for the house of representatives.
Abdirizak Khalif who is the second deputy of the main opposition party of Somaliland (Waddani) and hails from the same region also launched his candidacy for the position.
The Historical perspective, the speakership of the house held by the Politicians who hails from the Eastern regions of the country. The current speaker of Somaliland’s house of representatives is Bashe Mohamed Farah who also hails from Sool province.
