Somaliland’s disability organization has on Saturday hosted a ceremony in the capital Hargeisa in which all activists who contributed to the well being of the people with disabilities in the country have been awarded.
Among the top officials who attended the event was the chairman of Somaliland’s electoral commission and members from two houses of the parliament.
The chairman of the Somaliland disability organization Dahir Haji Jama praised the role of the community in helping people with disabilities in Somaliland.
He added that the disability community face many challenges including lack of political participation.
Globally, All communities with disabilities face socioeconomic challenges.
