The Minister of Defense of the Federal Government of Somalia, Abdikadir Mohamed Nur attended the second session meeting of the Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC) held in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
According to the Somalia’s News agency, The Minister reported the victories of the Somalia National Army and the local forces in the fight and “eradication” of the Al-Shabaab in the country citing their latest military clashes with the group.
The Minister also talked about the recently disclosed agreement between the governments of Somaliland and Ethiopia which caused regional tension after Somalia expressed its dissatisfaction towards the deal and called on the international community to invalidate it.
However, Somaliland and Ethiopia repeatedly defended their deal, pledged it will not violate the regional integrity and sovereignty and expressed their commitment to implementing it.
