Somalia’s Hiiraan State Self declared President Criticizes Lack of Development Projects in the Region
In a recent address to a sizable gathering in the Mahas district, Ali Jeyte Osman, who has asserted the title of President for Hiiraan State in Somalia, an assertion yet to be recognized by the federal government, voiced his criticisms of both the Hirshabelle administration and the federal government. His critique centered on the dearth of substantial development projects in the Hiiraan region.
Ali Jeyte Osman emphasized the absence of an active administration that authentically represents the interests of the local populace, especially following the departure of key collaborative stakeholders from the region.
This statement by Jeyte Osman assumes significance, as he is scheduled to hold a meeting with President Hasan Sheikh in Mahas. In the ensuing days, President Hasan Sheikh plans to dispatch a delegation to Mahas to strategize against the Alshabaab group.
Despite prevailing tensions in the Hiiraan region, President Hasan Sheikh has taken the initiative to engage in dialogue with Hiiraan politicians who oppose the government. He encourages them to reconcile their differences and collaborate with the central government in the fight against the Alshabaab.
