Arsenal fans call for a news story

Arsenal supporters, despite the fact that they are at the heart of Manchester United’s Saturday game, have been reporting that Mesut Ozil is close to agreeing a deal with the Gunners. The club’s official website quotes the Daily Mirror as saying that Ozil will agree a new deal and will spend around £ 250,000 a week on a long-term deal.

Ozil, 28, has only 18 months left on his contract with Arsenal, currently with a £ 140,000-a-year contract worth $ 180,000.

If the deal is signed, Ozil is the best paid player in his career.

The Mirror says Ozil recently bought a house worth $ 12 million in London, which has been interpreted to remain in the city.
