Ethiopia Elected as Member of UN Commission on the Status of Women

In a stride toward gender equality and empowerment, Ethiopia has secured a role as a member of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) for a four-year term. The term is set to commence at the inaugural meeting of the Commission’s seventieth session in 2025 and will extend until the conclusion of its seventy-third session in 2029.

Established in 1946, the Commission on the Status of Women has been at the forefront of advocating for the rights and advancement of women worldwide.

Through its dedicated efforts, the Commission has fostered a platform for the exchange of ideas, experiences, and best practices aimed at bolstering the implementation of commitments at the national level.

Central to its mission are the interactive expert panels, which delve into pertinent themes, and roundtable discussions that convene high-level representatives during the Commission’s annual sessions.

The platforms serve as invaluable forums for shaping policies, sharing insights, and charting pathways toward gender parity and inclusivity.
