Hirshabelle State President of Somalia, Ali Guudlaawe, conducted an official visit to military bases in Middle Shabelle, with the primary purpose of overseeing and evaluating the state of preparedness of the defense forces. This visit was strategically timed ahead of the imminent commencement of the second phase of the anti-Al Shabaab campaign.
During his interaction with the troops, the regional president reaffirmed the commitment to eradicating the presence of Al Shabaab from their remaining strongholds within the region. He emphasized the continuation of operations until the ultimate goal of complete liberation is realized and encouraged the soldiers to enhance their counterterrorism efforts in this critical phase.
Ali GuudLaawe appealed to the residents of Hirshabelle to actively engage in the ongoing anti-Al Shabaab operations. He pointed out that the group’s vulnerabilities have rendered it susceptible to imminent defeat by the combined forces of the armed services.
President Guudlaawe expressed commendation for the exemplary leadership exhibited by high-ranking federal government officials, specifically acknowledging the President and Prime Minister for their pivotal roles in the ongoing campaign against Al Shabaab across the southern and central regions of the nation.
