Somaliland decides today as registered voters cast their ballots……….

At some polling units across the country’s capital Hargeisa, casting of ballots have commenced in earnest as situation of things are calm.
Over one million registered voters in Somaliland turned out unmasse as early as 5 am to cast their ballot for the parliamentary and local council elections as around 900 candidates are vying for less than 400 seats.
Before seven o clock, voter registration officers arrived in Shiraaqle and Hodon Hills areas to set the ball rolling as voters maintained orderly queues.
The turnout is impressive as multitudes trouped to the election grounds
Against all odds, many walked distances, even on crutches, to exercise their civil franchise
CBA TV spoke with some prospective voters and many described the process as being peaceful and orderly.
The biometric voter registration devices are intact and political party agents including election observers are on ground to oversee the exercise
Security personnel are stationed in different locations to ensure smooth and orderliness of the election process.
Although Somaliland electoral commission NEC earlier gave a no movement directive to all unofficial vehicles in the city but some vehicles, notably Khat carriers, still find their ways around the metropolitan as few canteen shops along the street operate.
