Simad University Holds a Virtual Graduation Ceremony amidst covid

Simad University which is one of the main Private owned universities in Somalia has held its graduation batch in Virtual ceremony due to the fear of Coronavirus. More than 400 students graduated and Many dignitaries attended the ceremony including government officials with the University and the students……

Simad University in Mogadishu holds a virtual graduation ceremony of more than 400 graduates due to the fear of resurgence of Covid19 in the country. Government officials including Members of parliament and other dignitaries have appeared for this virtual graduation ceremony.

Simad University board managers affirmed that they were planning all the graduates and their parents to attend this 16th graduation patch in person but the fear of resurgence of covid 19 has changed everything.

The Chairman of SIMAD University Dahir Hassan Abdi has spoken comprehensively about the history and the achievements of the university. He also said that the decision of this virtual graduation ceremony was not an easy one but that the health of the students and their parents is paramount to the University.

Professor Kamal Ubaid spoke on behalf of the University’s board managers and congratulated the students for their achievement. He also challenged them to never give up and proceed with their studies.

Mohamed Hussein Odowaa who is an MP expressed his gratitude and notified them not to stop efforts there.

Simad University in Mogadishu is one of the Privately owned Universities in the country that Produces a large number of graduates each year who contribute a lot to the country.
